AcadTools.Online ("we", "our", "us") is an academic tools platform built and operated by Hassan Anwar. Our registered domain is acadtools.online. 2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum amount of information necessary to provide our services. Specifically:

  • Guest Users (no account): When you use our calculators without registering, no personal data is collected or transmitted to our servers. All calculations happen entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. We do not log your grades, course names, or GPA results.
  • Registered Users: If you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and the academic data you choose to save to your dashboard (GPA history, saved calculations, academic goals). This data is stored securely in our database and tied to your user account.
  • Contact Form: When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content solely to respond to your inquiry.
  • Technical Data: We may collect standard server logs including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited. This data is anonymized and used only for debugging and performance monitoring. We do not use it to identify individual users.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the calculator services and personal dashboard features.
  • To respond to your support inquiries and feedback submitted through the contact form.
  • To send you service-related notifications (e.g. password reset emails, account verification).
  • To improve our platform based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
  • To ensure platform security and prevent fraudulent or abusive use.

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral tracking, or profiling. We do not display personalized ads on AcadTools.Online.

AcadTools.Online uses browser localStorage to temporarily store your calculator inputs during a session. This is solely for your convenience (so your data persists if you refresh the page) and the data never leaves your device unless you explicitly save it to your account.

We may use essential cookies for session management (e.g. keeping you logged in). We do not use advertising, analytics tracking, or third-party cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data โ€” including saved calculations and profile information โ€” is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 90 days and then permanently deleted. Technical server logs are retained for up to 30 days for debugging purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to certain types of processing, such as direct marketing.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and secure database configurations. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

9. Children's Privacy

AcadTools.Online is designed for high school and university students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete that data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of AcadTools.Online after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
